Dubai Police has announced that its General Department of Artificial Intelligence has received an important international certificate called ISO/IEC 42001:2023. This makes Dubai Police one of the first government organizations in the world to get this special recognition for managing Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems.
The certificate was given to Major General Ahmad Rafie, who is the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs at Dubai Police. The award was handed over by Bureau Veritas, a well-known global certification company, during the World Police Summit 2025. This event was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre and was supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. This year’s summit theme was “Beyond the Badge: Envision the Next Era of Policing.”
Many important people attended the certificate ceremony. These included Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, the Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence; Brigadier Dr. Saleh Al Hamrani, Deputy Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering; Brigadier Adnan Ali Muhammad, Deputy Director of the General Department of AI for Smart Operations; and Engineer Colonel Hussein Ahmad bin Ghalita Al Muhairi, Deputy Director of AI for Smart Applications.
