Dubai, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed early Thursday that the country’s air defence systems responded to incoming missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. Authorities issued multiple safety alerts to ensure public safety.
The latest alert came at 6:24am, confirming that air defence systems were actively intercepting a missile threat. Residents were advised to remain in safe locations and follow official updates.
This marked the third alert issued since early morning. The first alert was released at 3:26am, followed by a second at 4:05am, both urging the public to stay indoors and heed official guidance.
The Ministry of Defence stated that sounds heard across various parts of the UAE were due to air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, while fighter jets engaged cruise missiles and drones.
Authorities stressed that residents should not approach, touch, or photograph debris from interceptions. Any incidents should be immediately reported to emergency services, allowing specialised teams to handle the situation safely.
Officials confirmed that the UAE is closely monitoring the situation. They warned that further alerts or updates may follow as the country prioritises the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure.
Residents are urged to remain cautious, follow instructions from relevant authorities, and stay informed through official channels.
