Under the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has announced plans to send three airlifts to deliver much-needed medical aid to Gaza. These airlifts will go through El Arish in Egypt and aim to provide critical support to people in Gaza who are facing severe challenges. The flights will be managed by the Dubai Air Wing (DAW) as part of a larger humanitarian effort in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Giuseppe Saba, the CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, shared the organization’s strong commitment to helping Gaza during this difficult time. He stated, "We are deeply committed to supporting the people of Gaza during these tough times. Following the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we are working harder than ever to gather resources and partner with global humanitarian organizations to send life-saving aid to those who need it most. Dubai Humanitarian has increased its efforts to deliver medical supplies and mobile hospitals to address the urgent health needs in Gaza. We hope the current ceasefire will help ensure that aid continues to reach those in need without any disruptions so that we can expand our efforts further."

The first airlift left Dubai this morning, carrying 67.9 metric tons of primary health kits provided by WHO from its stocks in Dubai Humanitarian. These kits are urgently needed because Gaza’s healthcare system is in a very fragile state, with many health facilities damaged and limited facilities to store medicines requiring cold temperatures.
Robert Blanchard, who leads WHO’s Hub for Global Health Emergencies Logistics, expressed his gratitude for Dubai Humanitarian's support. He said, "WHO is very thankful for our partnership with Dubai Humanitarian and for the ongoing support from the Government of Dubai and the UAE. Since 2018, WHO’s hub here in the UAE has helped deliver over $200 million worth of emergency health supplies to more than 140 countries. This hub is a vital part of protecting the health of millions of people worldwide."
Blanchard explained the seriousness of the situation in Gaza, saying, "Sadly, health facilities have been destroyed, healthcare workers and even WHO staff have lost their lives, and there is a severe shortage of essential medicines. This shipment, weighing 68 metric tons, includes medicines and health supplies to treat 95,000 people for three months. It contains items like emergency health care kits, medicines for respiratory diseases, treatments for infections and cardiovascular conditions, insulin, and many other essential supplies that are critical to saving lives."
Since the crisis began 15 months ago, Dubai Humanitarian has been actively delivering aid to Gaza. So far, the organization has transported over 1,068 metric tons of relief supplies through 23 airlifts and one sea shipment. This aid includes items from organizations like WHO, UNICEF, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and the World Food Programme (WFP), all of which are based at Dubai Humanitarian, the world’s largest humanitarian aid hub.
The UAE’s efforts highlight its commitment to helping people in crisis, with a focus on providing urgent medical supplies and hope to those in desperate need.
