The United Arab Emirates continues to focus on strengthening the healthcare sector by reinforcing its position as a leading international destination for medical services and a magnet for diverse business sectors.
This year’s edition was marked by the launch of CINE FIKR DERMA – Psychodermatology Edutainment, an innovative, first-of-its-kind programme that integrates psychiatry and dermatology through an engaging educational approach. The programme aims to shed light on the close relationship between mental health and skin diseases by presenting scientific content in an engaging and interactive cinematic format. It seeks to raise awareness across various segments of society by illustrating the influence of psychological factors on different skin conditions and emphasising the reciprocal connection between the mind and the skin. The initiative also promotes innovative learning through the use of cinematic storytelling techniques to convey psychodermatology concepts in a simplified manner. Furthermore, it encourages interaction and dialogue between specialists in dermatology and mental health, contributing to the advancement of an ideal biopsychosocial model.
The launch of the CINE FIKR DERMA – Psychodermatology Edutainment initiative during Dubai Derma 2025 reflects the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to promoting integrative medicine concepts and opening new horizons for continuous medical education based on interaction and visual experience.
Moreover, the use of cinematic storytelling through the CINE FIKR DERMA – Psychodermatology Edutainment initiative contributes to conveying psychodermatology concepts not only to specialists but also to patients and the wider community. This approach offers a deeper and more human-centred understanding of skin conditions linked to psychological stress or mental and social disorders.
