H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, convened with a distinguished delegation of Africa’s top business and philanthropic leaders to explore fresh cooperation avenues. Their discussions centered around expanding efforts in culture, creativity, and social development, as well as bolstering enduring cultural and economic relationships between the UAE and Africa. Both parties shared insights on fostering innovation and impactful initiatives across various regions.
Welcoming the delegation led by Badr Jafar, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Business and Philanthropy, Sheikha Latifa emphasized the essential role of forging meaningful global partnerships with visionaries contributing to cultural and economic advancement. She underscored Dubai’s burgeoning reputation as a global hub for creativity and innovation, where knowledge sharing and cross-regional collaboration continue to thrive. According to her, Dubai is dedicated to nurturing talent, promoting cultural expansion, and advancing human development in collaboration with like-minded areas.
Joining Sheikha Latifa were senior officials including Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; and Mansoor Hussain Lootah, CEO of the Corporate Enablement Sector and Chief AI Officer at Dubai Culture. Their attendance reflected Dubai’s firm commitment to enhancing cultural partnerships and achieving shared developmental ambitions. The meeting reinforced the emirate’s position as a global hub for culture and creativity, where diverse ideas and experiences converge to shape the future.
During the meeting, Sheikha Latifa lauded the African delegation’s accomplishments and contributions across various fields. She acknowledged the deep-rooted historical connections and shared values between the UAE and African countries, which continue to foster mutual understanding and long-term collaboration. The delegation featured esteemed business and philanthropic figures such as Abdul Samad Rabiu, Aliko Dangote, Dr. Elizabeth Jack-Rich Tein, Humphrey Kariuki, Johann Rupert, Mohammad Dewji, Sir Mo Ibrahim, Naguib Sawiris, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Strive Masiyiwa, Tsitsi Masiyiwa, and Tony Elumelu.
Their participation highlighted Africa’s firm dedication to cultural advancement, social progress, and economic empowerment. The meeting showcased how Dubai and African associates can join forces to create new opportunities, support shared aspirations, and enhance global cooperation in culture, creativity, and philanthropy.
