Authorities in Dubai International Airport confirmed that two drones fell near the airport on Wednesday morning, leaving four people injured. Despite the incident, air traffic operations at the airport continued as normal.
According to officials, the incident resulted in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, while one Indian national suffered moderate injuries. All injured individuals received medical attention from emergency response teams.
The airport operator, Dubai Airports, confirmed that flights were not disrupted, and operations at Dubai International Airport continued without major interruptions.
Dubai Airports also noted that operations at both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) had already partially resumed from March 7 following a brief earlier disruption.
Authorities advised passengers to avoid travelling to the airport unless their airline has confirmed their flight, as schedules may still change due to regional developments.
Earlier this month, on March 1, a concourse at the airport sustained minor damage during a separate incident. Emergency teams quickly responded and managed the situation in coordination with local authorities. Four airport staff members were injured at that time and received immediate medical treatment.
Dubai International Airport remains one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs. In the past year, the airport recorded 95.2 million passengers, marking the highest annual international passenger traffic ever recorded by any airport globally.
Officials continue to monitor the situation while ensuring passenger safety and smooth flight operations at the airport.
