In a recent study conducted by London-based research firm Skytrax, Doha's Hamad International Airport has been awarded the prestigious title of the world's best airport, dethroning Singapore's Changi Airport, which previously held the top position. The announcement was made during the 2024 World Airport Awards held in Germany on April 17, as part of the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt. Following closely behind Hamad International Airport is Incheon International Airport in South Korea, securing the third spot in the rankings.
Despite relinquishing its global title, Changi Airport continues to dominate in the Asian region, earning accolades for its exceptional immigration services, hailed as the best worldwide. Furthermore, the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has once again been recognized as the top airport hotel, marking its ninth win in this category.

These distinctions stem from an extensive global survey conducted by Skytrax between August 2023 and February 2024. Travellers provided feedback on various aspects of their airport experience, encompassing check-in procedures, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and departure processes.
Hamad International Airport's triumph marks its third time clinching the top spot, having previously secured the title in 2021 and 2022. Meanwhile, Changi Airport had maintained its reign as the world's best airport in 2023, marking its 12th victory in this category.
Responding to the recognition, a spokesperson from Changi Airport Group (CAG) commended Hamad International Airport for its accomplishment and expressed gratitude for the unwavering support received during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The spokesperson emphasized the pivotal role of passengers and airport partners in inspiring Changi Airport to continuously enhance travel experiences for all visitors, underscoring their commitment to providing exceptional service and facilities.
