DEWA Strengthens Cybersecurity with Fortinet Partnership

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has taken a major step to protect its digital infrastructure by signing a long-term cybersecurity partnership with Fortinet, a global leader in network security solutions. The move aligns with DEWA’s ongoing efforts to safeguard smart city systems and digital assets across Dubai.

The agreement was formalized during the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) at Dubai World Trade Centre. Hussain Lootah, Executive Vice President of Transmission Power at DEWA, and Joe Sarno, Executive Vice President of International Sales at Fortinet, signed the partnership in the presence of senior officials.

Through this collaboration, DEWA will integrate Fortinet’s Security Fabric system, offering comprehensive protection across operational technologies, IT networks, private clouds, and IoT systems. The partnership also emphasizes the adoption of the Zero Trust security model, ensuring safe access and proactive threat prevention.

Advanced AI and real-time analytics technologies from FortiGuard will strengthen DEWA’s Information Security Centre, allowing faster detection and response to potential cyber threats. This integration aims to reduce operational risks while maintaining high efficiency and reliability in DEWA’s services.

With Dubai accelerating its smart city initiatives, the DEWA-Fortinet partnership positions the authority to tackle growing cyber threats while embracing innovations such as artificial intelligence, IoT, and smart network management.
