Abu Dhabi Boosts Family Business Ties in US Investment Roundtable

Abu Dhabi is making its mark on the global investment stage. The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), hosted a high-level family businesses roundtable in New York, spotlighting the emirate’s growing economic strength and investment opportunities.

The event, held during Abu Dhabi’s economic delegation visit to the US from September 29 to October 1, gathered leading Emirati family enterprises alongside influential American business leaders. Discussions centred on collaboration opportunities in finance, technology, healthcare, clean energy, and other priority sectors.

The roundtable highlighted the pivotal role of family businesses in the UAE, which contribute around 60% of the nation’s GDP, employ 80% of the workforce, and account for nearly 90% of private-sector companies. Emirati firms such as Waha Capital, Mubarak and Brothers Investments, Al Sayegh Group, Arabian Group Holding, and Agthia were actively involved, showcasing Abu Dhabi’s investor-friendly environment and strong legal and infrastructural support.

Participants explored avenues for joint projects, cross-border investments, and long-term partnerships, reflecting a shared commitment to economic growth, innovation, and diversification. The event also reinforced Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for enterprise, capital, and talent, strengthening ties with one of the UAE’s most important trade partners.

The roundtable underscored Abu Dhabi’s strategic push to elevate its family businesses onto the international stage, demonstrating that global collaboration is key to sustaining growth and expanding opportunities across generations.
