Zomato founder and Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal has unveiled a preview of his new invention, Temple, a compact device designed to monitor brain blood flow in real time. He shared a brief video clip on Instagram with the caption “Getting there,” sparking significant online interest. Recently, observers noted Goyal sporting a small golden gadget on his right temple, generating widespread curiosity about its purpose. His latest post confirms that this device is an integral part of an exciting research initiative.

On LinkedIn, Goyal elaborated that Temple is a groundbreaking device crafted to measure the brain’s blood flow continuously and accurately. This project emerged during his exploration of the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, where he speculates that gravity may influence human ageing. He clarified that he speaks not just in his capacity as a CEO, but as a curious individual diving into a scientific hypothesis. Goyal suggests that gravitational forces could have a significant impact on lifespan through effects on the brain.

He connected three scientific concepts: minor blood flow reductions while standing, the vulnerability of crucial brain areas like the hypothalamus and brainstem, and their roles in regulating aging. This inquiry prompted him to examine whether tracking brain blood flow could enhance understanding of the ageing process. Thus, Temple was conceived as part of this study.

Despite contrasting opinions regarding the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, Goyal remains optimistic about the device’s value. He mentioned he has been utilizing Temple for a year and envisions its potential as a significant health tool globally. Goyal emphasizes that tracking brain blood flow is recognized as a key indicator of ageing, cognitive function, and longevity, implying the device's utility surpasses the validity of the gravity theory. He strongly refuted suggestions that he developed the hypothesis solely for marketing purposes, insisting his integrity and the trust of customers are paramount.

Goyal noted that Temple will be a modest endeavor compared to Eternal, focusing on authentic scientific inquiry rather than sales. The research underlying Temple is carried out by Continue Research, a project dedicated to understanding human existence and ageing. Goyal shared that his team has invested two years studying biological research, ageing sciences, and mechanisms to decelerate the human ageing process. With increasing interest, Temple is emerging as a novel effort to intertwine health innovation with profound scientific intrigue.
