Cosmin Olăroiu named new UAE national football coach

Cosmin Olăroiu is now the new coach of the UAE national football team. He signed a deal to work with the team for two years.

This change happened just a few weeks after the old coach, Paulo Bento, was removed. He was let go one day after UAE won their match against North Korea in the World Cup qualifiers. His helpers were also asked to leave.

Olăroiu has worked with many big football clubs in the area before. He has trained teams like Al Hilal, Al Sadd, Al Ain, and Al Ahli. People know him for his good work and strong football skills.

In 2021, he started coaching the Sharjah football team. With this team, he reached the final in the Champions League Two. Before Sharjah, he coached a football club in China called Jiangsu Suning. There, he helped the team win the league title for the first time in their history.

Right now, the UAE team is in third place in Group A for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They have 13 points. Uzbekistan is in second place with 17 points, and Iran is first with 20 points.

UAE will play two more big matches soon. They will face Uzbekistan on 5th June and Kyrgyzstan on 10th June. These games are very important for their chance to reach the World Cup.
