A few days after a new picture-making tool came in ChatGPT, people started to worry. They found that it can make pictures of fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. These are very important ID cards in India. Some people showed that they asked the tool to make Aadhaar and PAN cards, and it did. One person even made one for Aryabhatta, a famous math teacher from long ago. This made others say that such tools should have rules.

Another person asked how the tool learned to make Aadhaar cards. He posted a picture of a fake Aadhaar card and said, “Where did it get the idea of Aadhaar pictures from?” Some people think the tool may have learned from sample Aadhaar card images that are on the internet, but they don’t think the tool used any real Aadhaar data.
To test this, someone used a photo of Sam Altman (a famous person) and asked the tool to make an Aadhaar card. The tool said no. It replied, “Making fake ID cards is wrong and not allowed.” It also said, “We can make a fun or joke ID for shows or school work if you want.” The person asked again. Still, the tool said no to making a real-looking Aadhaar card. But it said it could help with a fun card like for a tech event or school project.
Then the person uploaded a photo and asked to put it on a PAN card. This time, the tool said yes. It asked if it should cut the photo or just place it on a sample card. It also asked if the person wanted the card in JPEG or PDF format. The first picture it made looked like a PAN card, but there were small mistakes, like wrong spellings. When asked again, the tool made a better one. This one looked more real. It had fake name, date of birth, signature, and fake PAN number. Then the person gave fake details like birth date and asked the tool to show the card on a carpet. The new photo looked almost real.
Making fake Aadhaar or PAN cards is not something new. Scammers have been doing it for many years. They used other tools before. But now, such tools make it easy for anyone to make fake ID cards. Real PAN cards have safety things like photo, QR code, chip, and shiny mark. Aadhaar cards also have secret marks, tiny lines, special patterns, and other things that stop copying. The fake cards made by this tool did not have any of those.
Even though fake Aadhaar or PAN cards from this tool may not work at real banks or offices, they can still fool people. Some people don’t know how to tell if an ID is fake. Scammers may use these to cheat others. Another big worry is that this tool and others like it can make real-looking photos of people who are not real. This is a new thing and not like old photo-editing apps.
This shows that such tools can help bad people do cheating more easily. Because it is so simple to use, almost anyone can make fake ID cards now. Also, many other tools are out there on the internet with fewer safety rules, and that is also a big problem.
