An IndiGo flight flying from Jaipur to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing on Monday evening after a bomb threat note was found on the plane. The flight safely landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) at 8:50 PM.
According to a report by news agency, a note with a bomb threat was discovered in one of the toilets while the flight was still in the air. As soon as the crew found the note, they quickly informed the air traffic control. The airport then declared a full emergency at 8:43 PM, just minutes before the plane landed.
Airport safety teams and emergency services were ready and followed all standard safety steps to make sure everyone stayed safe. Luckily, the flight landed without any trouble, and all passengers were safe.

A spokesperson from CSMIA said, “The flight landed safely at 8:50 PM. A full emergency was announced at 8:43 PM. Airport work was not disturbed.” The spokesperson also said that the airport is working closely with the airline and security teams to look into the matter. “The safety of passengers and staff is our top priority,” they added.
Earlier this month, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, shared some worrying information. He said that up to March 25 this year, there have already been 24 hoax bomb threats received by airlines, based on data from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
Even though this was a serious situation, the quick action of the crew and airport staff helped avoid any harm.
