New Delhi: Nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region found themselves in a state of alarm as they received bomb threat emails, prompting swift action from authorities. Students were sent home early from these schools as police officials conducted thorough search operations on the premises. However, despite the extensive searches, no suspicious items were discovered.

Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa assured the public, stating, "We are taking all appropriate measures at the schools which have received bomb threats. I request parents not to panic, as nothing suspicious has been found."

Officials characterized the threats as a malicious attempt to cause panic, emphasizing that there was no substance to the claims. The Union Home Ministry echoed this sentiment, assuring the public that necessary steps were being taken and urging against panic.

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena affirmed the investigative efforts, stating, "The Delhi Police have traced the origin of the emails. I am assuring citizens of Delhi that the police are alert, getting leads, and will take strict action."

Among the schools affected were Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, and Delhi Public School in Dwarka. Mother Mary School, in the midst of conducting an exam, had to abruptly halt the test as search operations began, declaring an emergency and evacuating the premises.

Delhi education minister Atishi reassured the public, stating, "Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools."

The incident evoked memories of a similar hoax in February at Delhi Police School in RK Puram, underscoring the need for vigilance and caution amidst such threats.
