In a major step towards greener and smarter logistics, Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, has upgraded its ground transport fleet with 40 state-of-the-art Euro 6 trucks from MAN Trucks, supplied through Allied Transport Company. The move makes Emirates SkyCargo the first in the region to introduce long-haul, heavy-duty Euro 6 vehicles into its daily operations.
The new trucks mark a big leap in sustainability, as their engines meet the strictest European emission standards, significantly lowering harmful pollutants compared to older models. With this upgrade, Emirates SkyCargo expects to achieve a 17% annual reduction in CO2 emissions from its trucking operations, reinforcing the airline’s wider push toward cleaner and more energy-efficient ground services.
Each Euro 6 truck is built with cutting-edge safety and driver-assist technology, featuring kerb mirrors, blind-spot detection, reverse cameras, and a 360° visibility system. Intelligent tools such as the AI-powered Driver Monitoring System help prevent fatigue-related incidents by alerting drivers in real-time, while dual camera coverage and GPS cloud tracking ensure enhanced visibility and cargo security throughout every journey.
Operating between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Emirates SkyCargo’s fleet transports over 1,000 tonnes of cargo daily across the 77 km bonded corridor — a lifeline for Dubai’s fast-growing logistics network. The addition of these advanced trucks will streamline operations, improve fuel efficiency, and support the seamless movement of goods through the UAE’s dual-airport hub.
This milestone not only highlights Emirates SkyCargo’s commitment to innovation and sustainability but also sets a new benchmark for responsible logistics in the Middle East — paving the way for cleaner, safer, and smarter cargo transport in the years ahead.
