Amazon Opens Huge Fulfilment Centre in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Amazon has opened its very first fulfilment centre in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). The new facility aims to speed up deliveries, increase product choices, and help local businesses grow online.

Located in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), the centre uses advanced technology and automation to make deliveries faster. Customers across the UAE can now enjoy same-day delivery on a wide range of products. Abu Dhabi Customs also supports smooth operations with faster clearance and trade processes.

The inauguration was attended by top officials, including Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED, Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmad, CEO of KEZAD Group.

Badr Al-Olama of ADIO said, “This fulfilment centre is a milestone for Abu Dhabi. It will create new opportunities for small and medium businesses and strengthen digital commerce and logistics in the emirate.”

Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori of Abu Dhabi Customs added that the government is working to make Abu Dhabi a smart trade hub. The customs department is now using AI and digital tools to make business faster, easier, and more transparent.

Ronaldo Mouchawar, VP of Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye, said, “We are excited to expand in Abu Dhabi. This centre uses technology to help businesses sell online and give customers what they want quickly. Our partnership with ADIO, Abu Dhabi Customs, and KEZAD is key to building a strong logistics network.”

The facility also houses an Innovation Lab where new technologies are tested. So far, the lab has improved processes by 59% and passed 93% of over 500 tests. It also features 3D printing, package testing, and tools to make work safer and faster.

With space for up to 8 million products, the centre supports sellers using Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), helping them store, pack, and ship items efficiently. Products range across home, kitchen, groceries, beauty, and electronics. The centre works 24/7 to ensure fast deliveries for customers.

This new Amazon hub not only strengthens Abu Dhabi’s role in global e-commerce but also supports the UAE’s vision of a digital and innovative economy.
