Friday prayers in Dubai will proceed as planned across all mosques, confirmed the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (Iacad), following a day of heavy rains and thunderstorms on May 2. Despite minor waterlogging reported in some areas, Dubai residents woke up to clear skies on Friday, signaling a swift recovery from the rain's impact. Engineer Mohammed Al Mansoori, director of mosque administration at Iacad Dubai, confirmed that mosques across the emirate are open for prayers.
This confirmation brings relief to residents, especially after flooding incidents following record rains on April 16 disrupted daily life and religious rituals across the city. Concerns arose about mosque accessibility for Friday prayers, given memories of recent flooding. However, this time, disruptions were minimal, and authorities swiftly reopened mosques.
