The Al Jalila Foundation, part of Dubai Health, held a special ceremony to thank and honor its donors for their amazing support in improving healthcare in Dubai and the UAE. The event was held at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and many important people attended, including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Health Board, Her Excellency Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairman of Al Jalila Foundation, and Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum thanked the donors for their generosity. He said their support shows the UAE’s strong commitment to helping others. He explained that their efforts help create a healthcare system that cares about people, encourages new ideas, and makes healthcare accessible to everyone.

The ceremony also highlighted the hard work of the donors. Since the foundation started in 2013, it has made a big difference in healthcare, thanks to the generosity of these donors. The donors were thanked for making the Foundation stronger and better, allowing it to provide medical help to many people in need.
Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg talked about how the foundation’s success is a result of the UAE’s leaders and the country’s dedication to helping others. She said, “Al Jalila Foundation is a great example of how giving can make a lasting difference, and we are continuing to build a better future for healthcare.”
Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, thanked the donors for their support and explained that every dirham they donated helped improve the lives of many people. He shared that in 2024, the Foundation raised AED 177.65 million, which was 30% more than the previous year. This money helped provide medical help to 4,728 patients, which was 15% more than the year before.
The Foundation’s Programs and Impact
The Al Jalila Foundation runs several important programs to support healthcare and medical research. Some of the key programs include:
A'awen: Provides life-saving heart treatments.
The Child Fund: Helps children who face serious health challenges.
Wellness on Wheels: Offers health checkups and medical tests in different locations.
Ta'alouf: Supports children with special needs and their families.
Majlis Al Amal: Provides emotional support for female cancer patients.
Scholarship Program: Trains the next generation of medical professionals in the UAE.
Seed Grant Program: Funds early-stage scientific research.
Waqf (Endowment): Supports long-term medical projects.
Supporting Medical Research
Al Jalila Foundation also focuses on medical research. In 2024, the Foundation helped fund 12 research projects and awarded 13 medical scholarships, investing a total of AED 1.83 million in biomedical research. The Foundation also partnered with the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support 12 research projects on important health issues, like allergies and infectious diseases, with a total investment of AED 1.07 million.
The ceremony ended with inspiring stories from people who benefited from the Foundation’s programs, such as Ta'alouf, A'awen, The Child Fund, and Hope Fund. These stories showed how the Foundation’s work is making a real difference in people’s lives and helping to improve healthcare for everyone in the UAE.
