Al Ain witnessed an electrifying finale of the Al Ain Camel Racing Festival 2025 at the Al Rawda Camel Racetrack, as camel enthusiasts and owners gathered to celebrate one of the UAE’s most cherished traditions. His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, graced the closing round of the festival, showcasing the hagayeg category over a three-kilometre distance.
In a thrilling display of skill and endurance, Fakhr, owned by Suhail Hamad bin Qareen Al Ameri, clinched the festival’s inaugural trophy by winning the Open Young Female Camel Cup. Meanwhile, Al Mawj, owned by Rashed Mohammed bin Marshoud, emerged victorious in the Young Male Camel category, adding to the excitement of the day.

His Highness congratulated the winners, applauding their dedication and the high standard of competition. He highlighted the festival’s role in preserving camel racing as a cornerstone of UAE heritage, emphasizing its importance in promoting sportsmanship and cultural pride for future generations.
The festival’s first edition was noted for its exceptional organisation and strong participation, reflecting the sport’s deep-rooted popularity in the local community. Camel owners and trainers expressed their gratitude for the continued support, recognizing the event’s role in safeguarding the nation’s traditional sports and cultural identity.
Also present at the festival were notable dignitaries including Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Excellency Abdulla Mubarak Al Muhairi, alongside officials and enthusiasts from the camel racing sector.
Organised by the Presidential Camels and Camel Racing Affairs Centre under the supervision of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, the festival also featured special trophy races across various age categories, offering valuable prizes and memorable experiences for participants.
The event concluded on a celebratory note, reinforcing camel racing’s enduring place in UAE culture and showcasing the passion of those dedicated to upholding this traditional sport.
