Akasa Air has officially launched daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, marking another major milestone in its international expansion. This new service is made possible through a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, allowing smoother connectivity between India and the UAE. With these new routes, Akasa Air aims to provide more travel options while strengthening its presence in the fast-growing aviation sector between the two nations.

Flight Schedule and Expansion
The inaugural flight from Bengaluru took off from Kempegowda International Airport at 10:00 AM on March 1 and landed at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport at 12:35 PM local time. Meanwhile, the first flight from Ahmedabad is scheduled to depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 10:45 PM IST on March 1, reaching Abu Dhabi at 1:00 AM AST on March 2.
This expansion complements Akasa’s existing daily flights between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, which started in July last year. With the introduction of these new services, the airline will now operate a total of 21 weekly flights connecting Abu Dhabi with three major Indian cities.
Strengthening India-UAE Travel and Trade
Neelu Khatri, co-founder and Senior Vice President of International at Akasa Air expressed excitement about the launch. She stated, "We are thrilled to introduce this new international route in partnership with Etihad Airways. The UAE is one of the most important international aviation markets, and this expansion strengthens our presence in the region. Our collaboration with Etihad Airways will open up more travel opportunities for our customers, boosting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between India and the UAE."
More Domestic Connections: Flights to Darbhanga from April 4
In addition to its international expansion, Akasa Air recently announced new domestic flights connecting Hyderabad and Delhi with Darbhanga in Bihar, starting April 4. This makes Darbhanga the airline’s 28th destination.
The airline will operate daily flights between Hyderabad and Darbhanga via Delhi, but passengers will not need to change aircraft in Delhi. This service is expected to improve connectivity between the historical city of Darbhanga and two major metro cities, making travel more convenient for passengers.
With these latest developments, Akasa Air continues to grow rapidly, offering more travel options for both domestic and international passengers.
