Ajith Kumar has decided to focus more on racing and will take a break from films during the racing season. He shared this plan while at the 24H Dubai 2025 race. Ajith, who owns his racing team called Ajith Kumar Racing, said he will only sign film contracts when he is not racing.

When asked about his future in films and racing, Ajith said, "I don’t need anyone to tell me what to do. I plan to focus on motorsports as a driver and a team owner. So, I won’t sign any films during the racing season. But, I will work on films from October to March, before the racing season starts, so that I can fully focus on racing."
Ajith started racing at the age of 18 with motorcycles in India. Later, he went into films and had to pause his racing dreams. In 2002, he returned to racing, but this time with cars. He has raced in national competitions in India and also in international events like the BMW Asian Championship and British Formula 3. However, he couldn’t race as much as he wanted because of his film career.
Recently, Ajith worried fans when his car crashed into a barrier during practice at the 24H Dubai race. Thankfully, he was not hurt in the crash.
Ajith also has two upcoming films. Vidaamuyarchi was supposed to release during Pongal but has been delayed, with no new release date. The second film, Good Bad Ugly, will be released in theaters on April 10. Ajith hasn’t announced any other film projects yet, but director Lokesh Kanagaraj has shown interest in working with him in the future.
In conclusion, Ajith Kumar wants to balance acting and racing. But racing will be his priority during the racing season, and he will only act in films during the off-season.
