On Tuesday evening, famous music composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu announced they are separating after being married for nearly 30 years. Just a few hours later, Mohini Dey, the well-known bassist who has played in over 40 shows around the world with AR Rahman, shared that she and her husband, composer Mark Hartsuch, are also separating.
Mohini and Mark told their followers about their separation in a joint post on Instagram. They wrote, “Dear friends, family, fans, and followers, With a sad heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. This decision is mutual, and we remain great friends. We both decided we wanted different things in life, so we thought separating was the best choice.”

They continued, “We will still work on projects together, like MaMoGi and the Mohini Dey groups. We have always worked well together, and that will not change :) The main thing we want to say is that we wish everyone love. We appreciate your support and ask you to respect our privacy. Please, do not judge us.”
Mohini Dey is a very talented bass player who has worked with not only AR Rahman but also famous musicians like Zakir Hussain, Ranjit Barot, Steve Vai, and Guthrie Govan. She is known as one of the best bass players from India and is respected all over the world.

Even though she is going through personal changes, Mohini is still focused on her music career. Fans and friends are supporting her as she continues to grow and work on new music projects.
