The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the unanimous adoption of a resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) condemning Iran’s recent attacks on several Gulf and Middle Eastern countries.
The resolution strongly criticizes what it describes as blatant aggression against nations including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan. It also highlights the serious human rights consequences arising from these actions.
According to a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency, MWL Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Issa praised the UNHRC’s firm and unified stance. He commended the council for its clear condemnation of the attacks and its call for an immediate halt to hostilities, along with ensuring accountability.
Dr. Al-Issa emphasized that the aggression has triggered severe human rights violations, with far-reaching impacts across the region and beyond. He also referred to warnings from the World Food Programme (WFP), which indicated that nearly 45 million additional people could face acute hunger as a result of the ongoing crisis.
Reaffirming the significance of the resolution, Dr. Al-Issa stated that its unanimous approval sends a strong message to Iran. It reflects a united international position rejecting the attacks and dismissing any justifications for such actions.
The MWL concluded that global unity on this issue is critical to restoring stability and protecting human rights in the region.
