Artful Living will focus on getting older people involved in arts and cultural activities. The aim is to help senior citizens stay mentally active, feel less lonely, and give them something meaningful to do. This programme will run all year long and provide older people with chances to be creative and connect with others.
The artists who will work on this project will receive special training to help them work with senior citizens. This will allow them to encourage older people to share their ideas, which will make them feel happier and improve their health.
The House of Artisans Design Competition will celebrate traditional Emirati crafts and also encourage new designs in art and furniture. People from the UAE, like students, artists, and designers, will be invited to create pieces that mix old traditions with new ideas. This will help keep traditional crafts alive while also encouraging new ways of designing.
His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, said that he is happy to launch the two projects. He explained that the goal is to bring people of all ages together, from seniors to young people, showing the ongoing effort to grow the arts and give everyone the chance to be creative.
Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala, said that this partnership is important because it supports arts and education in Abu Dhabi. He added that these programmes will help change the arts scene, not only in Abu Dhabi but also globally.
Mansour Al Ketbi, Executive Director at Mubadala, said these programmes will bring real and positive changes to local communities. By encouraging both younger and older people to be creative, they will create lasting effects.
Rita Aoun, Executive Director of the Culture Sector at DCT Abu Dhabi, explained that their aim is to teach people about culture through different programmes. She said that by working with Mubadala, both youth and seniors will get more chances to explore their creativity, making Abu Dhabi a place full of art and culture.
The partnership between DCT Abu Dhabi and Mubadala is an important step in improving the arts and culture in Abu Dhabi. It will bring communities together and inspire new ideas.
