The Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority have started the 6th edition of the Safe Summer campaign. This yearly campaign is made to keep people safe during the hot summer months. It will run until the end of August.
The goal of the campaign is to spread awareness and help people understand how to stay safe from summer-related dangers, like fires, gas leaks, and heatstroke. The focus is on both preventing accidents and teaching the right ways to deal with emergencies.
The campaign has a special theme this year: “Your Safety is Our Goal”. Through this theme, the authorities want to remind everyone that public safety is very important. The campaign will be carried out in several steps. These include sharing safety tips through videos, posts on social media, leaflets, and posters, all in different languages to reach many people.
Brigadier General Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, who is the Director of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, said that their teams are always ready to handle any emergency. He added that they want people to learn about the right ways to store gas cylinders, the risks of leaving devices plugged in, and how to deal with electrical wires safely.
He also explained that the campaign is not just for families and workers, but also for companies. They are planning to organise visits to buildings, workplaces, and public spaces to check if safety rules are being followed.

Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, from the Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police, said that the campaign is a good chance to remind people to be more careful during summer. He talked about dangers like leaving children inside cars, not watching them near swimming pools, or being careless while cooking or using grills.
He also asked everyone to follow safety instructions, call emergency numbers when needed, and take part in making Abu Dhabi a safer place.
In the end, both departments reminded everyone that safety is everyone’s job. By working together, we can enjoy the summer without any accidents or harm.
