Hong Kong Tech Pavilions Drive Middle East Market Growth

Dubai, UAE – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) successfully staged the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025, held from 13 to 17 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. Featuring 22 leading Hong Kong exhibitors, the pavilion highlighted cutting-edge innovations across AI and robotics, IoT, and greentech, providing a gateway for Hong Kong’s technology firms to enter the rapidly expanding Middle East market.

Throughout the five-day exhibition, multiple pitching sessions and a networking dinner facilitated meaningful connections between Hong Kong start-ups and regional business partners. Notably, Robocore Technology Limited engaged in discussions with a multinational outdoor advertising company exploring the deployment of Robocore’s advertising robots globally. Roy Lam, CEO of Robocore, said: “GITEX marked our fourth overseas exhibition this year with the HKTDC, following CES in Las Vegas, MWC in Barcelona, and VivaTech in Paris. We connected with over 250 Middle Eastern companies, generating strong interest in our products and distribution partnerships. We are also pleased to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the authorities from Oman to establish an AI and Robotics Center, advancing local talent training and collaborative projects.”

The HKTDC and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ETO) in Dubai hosted a networking dinner on 14 October, attended by around 100 industry representatives. Exhibitors like WYNI Technology credited the event for bridging the gap between Hong Kong enterprises and the Middle East market. Winnie Leung, founder of WYNI Technology, commented: “The HKTDC enabled us to connect with local businesses and banks, better understand regional opportunities, and advance our expansion strategy in the Middle East.”

Canpanion Group Limited also explored collaboration opportunities with local educational institutions to integrate its technology into inclusive education. Discussions included establishing an AI school in partnership with authorities, demonstrating Hong Kong companies’ role in fostering innovation-driven ecosystems.

Alongside GITEX Global, HKSTP participated in Expand North Star at Dubai Harbour, showcasing solutions from 10 park companies. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University also highlighted its latest research and applications at the event.

The HKTDC continues to support Hong Kong businesses in major international tech exhibitions, reinforcing the city’s position as a global innovation hub. Looking ahead, the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion will return to CES in Las Vegas (January 2026), MWC in Barcelona (March 2026), and VivaTech in Paris (2026), providing a platform for Hong Kong’s I&T companies to demonstrate their cutting-edge technologies and expand globally.
