200 New BYD Electric Taxis to Join Dubai’s Green Fleet – 57

Dubai will add 200 new electric taxis to its roads. These cars are from a company called BYD, and the model is called the SEAL. The Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) is working with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility to bring these cars. The BYD SEAL can travel up to 600 kilometers on one full charge. It is made to be safe and give riders a quiet and smooth ride.

This step will help the UAE reach its clean energy goal for the year 2050. It will also help DTC move closer to having only electric cars by the year 2040.

Right now, more than 86% of DTC’s cars are already friendly to the environment. This is faster than the plan set by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which wants 100% clean cars by 2027. DTC’s CEO, Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, said that these changes are not only making rides better for people, but are also helping Dubai become a cleaner and smarter city.

Hasan Nergiz, head of Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, said this work will help change how people travel in the city. He said the new cars will make less smoke, be quiet, and give riders a better trip. This will help make a cleaner and greener future for everyone.
