While accepting the award, Saldana thanked the other nominees and praised their hard work. She said their performances made this year’s movies special, and she felt lucky to be among such talented women.
She also spoke about movie critics. She joked about how people tell actors to ignore bad reviews but expect them to read good ones. She recalled some funny and strange things critics had said about her in the past. Some had said she appeared in too many big movies, while others had commented on her emotional acting.
"Whenever someone writes something bad about a role, people tell me, 'Don’t read the reviews.' But when they say something nice, they ask, 'Did you read the reviews?' But I do read them sometimes," she said with a smile.
She added, "I think about some reviews, especially the ones that say, 'Her crying is too much. She is in too many big movies.' But my favorite one is, 'She is too blue.' So, I will listen to you all tonight, and I will take this award with joy. Thank you."
Saldana also spoke about *Emilia Pérez* and how much it meant to her. She was happy that the film touched people’s hearts. "This small movie has been very special, and so many people loved it. That makes me happy," she said.
She then thanked her family, especially her husband and nephew, who were with her at the event. "You have made me who I am. Thank you," she said. But the biggest thanks went to her sons, whom she called her "greatest adventure and toughest critics."
She ended her speech with a beautiful message, asking people to be kind and open to others. "I hope this movie reminds people to be curious and caring. You never know when you might help someone in their journey. The world is big and full of beauty, so let’s stay curious, stay kind, and stay blue—but not too blue," she said with a smile.
