Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli made headlines on Sunday, marking a historic achievement as the fastest player to reach 28,000 runs in all international formats. The 37-year-old accomplished this feat during the first ODI against New Zealand, positioning himself second on the all-time run-scorers list, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli hit the milestone in his 624th innings, smashing a boundary off New Zealand's Adithya Ashok. This record surpasses Tendulkar's achievement in 644 innings and Kumar Sangakkara's 666 innings.

Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Kohli described this moment as “a dream come true.” He expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to bring joy to his countless fans, stating, “I feel truly blessed to share my passion for cricket with everyone.”

Kohli, named player of the match for the 45th time, contributed significantly with a score of 93 runs off 91 balls, playing a vital role in India's success.
