The conference is being organized by Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and will bring together experts, speakers, and leaders to discuss how technology and innovation can solve big world problems. These problems include climate change, poverty, education, and health. A total of 720 research papers were submitted for this conference, and 330 papers will be presented during 52 sessions across 11 different topics.
More than 65 speakers and researchers from over 90 countries will attend this event. They will share their ideas and findings on how AI (artificial intelligence) and new digital technologies can help solve global challenges and build better, stronger, and more sustainable communities.
The conference will have seven main discussion topics. These discussions will cover important areas like how AI can help solve environmental issues, how education can fight poverty, how women can find new opportunities in the digital world, and the role of finance in creating green and sustainable projects. They will also talk about how changes caused by technology are affecting health, law, education, and other areas.
Another important part of this event will be giving awards for the best research papers. These awards will recognize research focused on areas like green technology, AI, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
During the conference, there will also be two special sessions. One of them will officially launch the Arab Universities for Climate Change Knowledge Network (AUCCKN). This network will connect universities to find solutions to climate change problems together. The other session will introduce the ADU-Liwa Global Collaborative Research and Innovation Program, which aims to bring universities and organizations from different parts of the world to collaborate on research and innovation.
Additionally, four important agreements (MoUs) will be signed during the conference. These agreements will create opportunities for sharing knowledge, working on joint research projects, and providing students with professional certification opportunities.
Professor Ghassan Aouad, the Chancellor of ADU, said, "This conference shows how committed we are to innovation and solving global problems. We want to bring experts and leaders from all over the world to share ideas and create solutions for a better and more sustainable future."
Professor Sherine Farouk, Associate Provost of Academic Projects at ADU, added, "Our goal at ADU is to support students and communities to lead innovation and sustainability. By hosting this conference, we not only support the UAE’s goals for sustainability but also bring global attention to using innovation for change."
The 2nd International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Futures (ICASF 2024) is sponsored by important organizations like Emirates Red Crescent, Adeeb Group, Inovartic Investment, and the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau. It is also supported by other organizations and universities worldwide, like HUAWEI and the Association of Arab Universities.

Experts, leaders, and researchers from all over the world will come together to share knowledge, learn from each other, and find creative solutions.
