On Friday, the UAE welcomed the 18th group of wounded Palestinian children, cancer patients, and their accompanying caregivers as part of a significant humanitarian effort initiated by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative aims to provide critical medical treatment to 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip, who are in urgent need of specialized care not readily available in their home region.
The group arrived at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi via an Etihad Airways flight from Al Arish International Airport in Egypt. Upon arrival, dedicated medical teams promptly transported the patients requiring immediate attention to hospitals across the UAE for specialized treatment.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the UAE's steadfast commitment to alleviating the humanitarian suffering of Palestinians in Gaza through comprehensive healthcare support. He expressed gratitude to the authorities, officials, and teams in Egypt for their collaborative efforts in facilitating the smooth transfer of patients and providing crucial assistance to UAE medical teams stationed in Al Arish.
This ongoing initiative underscores the UAE's broader humanitarian efforts to assist the Palestinian people, particularly those facing severe health challenges. It reflects the nation's proactive approach to addressing critical medical needs and enhancing healthcare capabilities in the region. By extending medical treatment to wounded children and cancer patients from Gaza, the UAE aims to improve health outcomes and provide essential care that contributes to the well-being and recovery of individuals and families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
