Abu Dhabi has set a new benchmark in environmental monitoring with the launch of the Abu Dhabi State of Environment Portal (ADSOEP). Introduced at the COP30 summit in Brazil, this AI-driven platform is the first of its kind globally, designed to automatically analyse environmental data, predict key indicators, and deliver instant insights.
The portal leverages artificial intelligence, large language models, and predictive analytics to process information from sensors and research reports. This approach drastically reduces the time and resources previously required to compile environmental reports while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and transparency.
Based on data from the 2025 State of the Environment Report, which included over 1,000 key indicators across air, water, land, and biodiversity, ADSOEP transforms complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. Automated analytics, expert review integration, and intuitive dashboards allow decision-makers to interact with real-time data, improving operational efficiency and sustainability strategies.
The platform has been developed in collaboration with e& enterprise and Accord Business Group, incorporating features such as automated KPI monitoring, instant content generation for reports, and alignment with international frameworks like DAPSI(W)R(M). These capabilities not only enhance transparency but also support faster, informed decision-making for environmental governance.
With ADSOEP, Abu Dhabi is demonstrating a global leadership role in combining technology and sustainability, setting an example for cities worldwide. The initiative also highlights the potential of AI to transform environmental management, offering a smarter, more responsive approach to protecting natural ecosystems and resources.
