UAE President Meets King Abdullah II, Discusses Regional Security

Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, today welcomed King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan during a fraternal visit ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with other senior officials.

During the talks, both leaders exchanged greetings and best wishes for continued wellbeing, prosperity, and stability for their countries and peoples. They discussed the escalating military situation in the region and the serious threats it poses to security and stability.

The discussion also focused on ongoing Iranian aggression targeting regional countries, which violates sovereignty and international law. King Abdullah II reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the UAE in defending its security, while Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed confirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Jordan in facing these attacks.

Both sides emphasized the urgent need to halt escalating military actions and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further tensions. The meeting also reviewed the strong fraternal ties and cooperation between the UAE and Jordan, committing to continued coordination for mutual benefits.

Officials attending the meeting included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defence; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airline; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Presidential Adviser; and Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces.

King Abdullah II was earlier received at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Humaid Obaid Khalifa Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAE Accountability Authority, and other senior officials.
