The Cybersecurity Council of the UAE Government has confirmed that national cybersecurity systems have successfully blocked cyberattacks targeting 634 organizations, including government and private entities. These attacks aimed to steal important data from key sectors in the country. However, experts used advanced security measures to stop them and protect the systems.
Dr. Mohamed AlKuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, spoke to the News Agency about the incident. He explained that a hacker group, known as “rose87168,” claimed to have broken into Oracle Cloud’s security system, specifically its Single Sign-On (SSO) and LDAP. This breach reportedly led to the leak of around six million customer records worldwide, including sensitive password information.

According to Dr. AlKuwaiti, about 140,000 organizations across the globe might have been affected by this cyberattack. Out of these, 634 are in the UAE. Among them, 30 are government entities, 13 are private companies, and the rest belong to other sectors.
To respond to this threat, the UAE Cybersecurity Council quickly activated emergency security systems across the country. They worked closely with the relevant authorities to ensure that all digital spaces in the UAE remained protected from further hacking attempts or security breaches.
The Council has also advised all government and private organizations to strengthen their cybersecurity measures. They urged companies to stay alert, increase their level of security readiness, and report any unusual or suspicious activity immediately.
Additionally, the Council highlighted the growing dangers of cyber threats. It emphasized the need to stay cautious and follow the best security practices, especially since hacking methods and cyber scams are constantly changing and becoming more advanced.
By taking these actions, the UAE is working to keep its digital infrastructure safe and secure against cybercriminals.
