UAE and Slovakia Begin First Political Consultation Meeting

The United Arab Emirates and the Slovak Republic held their first round of political consultations in Bratislava on 4 December 2025, led by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, and Marek Eštok, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The meeting followed the recent visit of Prime Minister Robert Fico to Abu Dhabi and confirmed the strong partnership between the two countries. Both sides discussed ways to expand cooperation, especially in trade, investment and possible projects in civilian nuclear energy.

They noted that non-oil trade between the UAE and Slovakia grew by one-third, reaching more than USD 1 billion in 2024, along with rising foreign direct investment flows. The two delegations also exchanged views on key regional and international issues, including developments in the Middle East and Europe, reflecting their shared interest in supporting peace and stability.

The consultations underlined the importance of regular dialogue to address global challenges and create opportunities that benefit both nations. Both sides agreed to continue these meetings to advance common goals and support the progress of their people.
