Abu Dhabi witnessed a significant step in strengthening UAE-New Zealand relations as Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Tim van de Molen, Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee of the New Zealand Parliament. The high-level discussion took place on Friday, highlighting both countries’ commitment to advancing parliamentary collaboration.
The meeting, attended by Dr. Richard Kay, New Zealand Ambassador to the UAE, focused on expanding diplomatic and legislative ties, underlining the growing partnership between the two nations. Al Nuaimi emphasized that the engagement reflects the UAE’s commitment to fostering trust, coordination, and consultation on issues of mutual concern. He pointed out that sharing parliamentary expertise can strengthen cooperation and support common strategic goals.

“UAE policies are founded on tolerance and coexistence, guiding our approach to diplomacy and parliamentary collaboration. Such values promote dialogue, peace, and sustainable development on a global scale,” Al Nuaimi remarked.
Tim van de Molen expressed New Zealand’s keenness to broaden ties across various sectors, emphasizing that closer collaboration would benefit both nations economically and politically while reinforcing shared interests.
The discussions mark a continued trajectory of strong bilateral relations, highlighting the potential for innovative partnerships, knowledge exchange, and cooperative initiatives in governance and development.
