Dubai witnessed a momentous occasion as H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, honoured the generous donors contributing to the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital. This pioneering facility is set to become Dubai’s first fully integrated comprehensive cancer care centre, reflecting the UAE’s enduring commitment to health and humanitarian values.
The recognition ceremony, organised by Al Jalila Foundation, took place at the hospital’s construction site in Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2. Fifty-five donors, including individuals, charitable organisations, and public and private entities, were celebrated for their unwavering support, which is helping bring this state-of-the-art hospital to life.

The hospital, spanning 59,000 square metres, will feature 53 clinics, 21 clinical research areas, 60 infusion rooms, 10 urgent care rooms, 5 radiotherapy suites, and 116 inpatient beds. Adding a unique touch of tranquility, 19 serene gardens will provide a soothing environment for patients and families. The centre aims to combine advanced treatment with research and education, positioning itself as a regional hub for specialised cancer care.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum emphasised the UAE’s deep-rooted culture of giving, describing philanthropy as a driving force behind both national development and the health sector. He noted that the hospital exemplifies the vision of the nation’s founding leaders, placing humanitarian values and public service at the core of progress.
The event highlighted the growing role of strategic partnerships in advancing healthcare infrastructure, with the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital poised to offer cutting-edge treatment while contributing to medical research and innovative approaches in cancer care.
