In an interview with *Vanity Fair*, Sydney talked about how the idea of "women empowering women" in Hollywood isn’t always true. She called it "fake" and said that many successful women often criticize younger women instead of helping them. She felt it was wrong when women who have already succeeded choose to bring down others.

Sydney also shared her experience with fame. She said that at first, she kept parts of her life private.
