The 2024 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Finals continued on Sunday in Riyadh, showcasing thrilling matches organized by the Saudi Tennis Federation under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport and with sponsorship from the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
At King Saud University, the doubles matches featured intense competition. In a notable match, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe faced off against the duo of Hao-Ching Chan and Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova. Dabrowski and Routliffe displayed remarkable teamwork, securing a convincing victory in straight sets.

In another exciting doubles clash, Italy’s Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini triumphed over the American pair of Desirae Krawczyk and Caroline Dolehide after a hard-fought three-set battle, showcasing their resilience and skill on the court.
The singles matches highlighted top players in the competition. Poland’s Iga Świątek began her campaign with a thrilling three-set match against Czech player Barbora Krejčíková, demonstrating her determination and athletic prowess in this opening Orange Group encounter.
Meanwhile, American star Coco Gauff had a strong showing, defeating fellow American Jessica Pegula in straight sets. Gauff credited her focus and commitment to continuous improvement as the keys to her successful performance. Her victory adds momentum as she seeks to make her mark in the tournament.
