At the same time, 391,011 people visited the mosque just to see it. During the Eid holiday, 122,819 people came — 57,629 prayed, and 64,959 were visitors. Even though Ramadan had only 29 days this year, more people came than last year — over 10% more.
Each day during Ramadan, around 11,240 visitors came. The mosque gave 289 guided tours, and 4,270 people joined them. Travel groups made 6,774 bookings for 128,361 people. There were also 75 official visits by groups, which included 1,126 visitors.
To help more people, the call center added more staff and answered 4,436 calls. With the help of Abu Dhabi TV, the mosque’s prayers were shown live on TV to people around the world.
The mosque also ran a special program called “Our Fasting Guests.” It was supported by the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation and Erth Hotel. They gave out Iftar (evening) and Suhoor (pre-dawn) meals every day of Ramadan. A total of 2,625,568 meals were prepared. Out of those, 898,288 meals were given at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, 442,345 in Al Ain, 1,160,000 in worker camps across Abu Dhabi, and 105,935 in other places.
In the last ten nights of Ramadan, 19,000 Suhoor meals were given to worshippers who came at night. This shows the UAE’s strong values of giving and kindness, inspired by Sheikh Zayed, the country’s founder.
Visitors also enjoyed the Dome of Peace and Souq Al Jami’. This market had 22 small shops and food stalls in the mosque's courtyards. The place was full of life and gave a chance for people to enjoy Ramadan evenings.
More than 11 special Ramadan events were held. Four talks were given at the Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis inside the mosque. Also, 18 talks were given by respected scholars who were invited by the President of the UAE. These talks were done with the help of the Islamic Affairs Authority and Zakat Fund.
A program called Jusoor (which means "Bridges") was also held. It had 13 episodes and brought together more than 1,200 people. They came from 13 embassies, many offices, and mosque workers. They all came together to share food and help others, showing Islamic values.
The mosque also hosted a blood donation drive with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank. On Zayed Humanitarian Day (19th of Ramadan), they gave away audio Qur’ans with voices of mosque Imams Idris Abkar and Yahya Aishan.
The mosque shared its Ramadan activities in the media too. They made more than 100 news stories, and over 700 media groups from around the world shared their news. In total, the mosque appeared in more than 3,600 news and social media posts.
The mosque’s staff worked very hard. Everyone, no matter their job, helped worshippers pray in peace. They were joined by over 580 volunteers. These included the Red Crescent, Absher Ya Watan, Ma’an Volunteer Group, police, ambulance staff, civil defense, parking staff, and traffic team members.
More than 20 government and private groups helped the mosque run everything smoothly. These included the Ministry of Defence, Abu Dhabi Police, Presidential Guard, Civil Defence, Erth Hotel, Transport Centre, Emirates Transport, ADNEC, and many more.
The centre also helped other mosques in the UAE. In Al Ain, Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque had 290,331 worshippers. In Fujairah, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque welcomed 122,347 people. In Ras Al Khaimah, 39,783 worshippers came. All these mosques also gave meals and helped visitors pray with comfort.
The efforts of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre during Ramadan show how it is not only a place for prayer but also for kindness, culture, and community. It brings people together in peace and sharing.
