Focus on Major Development Projects
During his visit, Sheikh Hazza received detailed updates on a number of important projects currently under way. Among them were:
Al Rawdha Square Project: This project is designed to strengthen infrastructure in the city and improve the quality of public facilities. By building better roads, services, and community spaces, the project will make life easier and more comfortable for residents.
The Oasis Projects: These projects celebrate Al Ain’s natural and historical agricultural heritage. They aim to preserve the region’s beautiful oases, which are a symbol of the city’s identity. At the same time, they will be developed in a way that attracts tourists and supports Al Ain’s reputation as a cultural and environmental destination.
Preserving Heritage While Developing Communities
Another major part of the discussions was about the plans to redevelop older neighbourhoods in Al Ain. Sheikh Hazza reviewed the strategies aimed at improving housing and community services while keeping the traditional look and feel of these neighbourhoods.
The main goal is to maintain Al Ain’s heritage identity while at the same time offering modern services that meet the needs of today’s families. This careful balance between past and present will ensure that residents enjoy a higher quality of life without losing their cultural roots.
The Al Ain DNA Project
One of the most exciting initiatives presented during the visit was the Al Ain DNA Project. This project is unique because it focuses on capturing the true “identity” of Al Ain by blending its history with modern development.
It is designed to highlight what makes Al Ain special, from its heritage sites and traditions to its vision of becoming a modern and sustainable city. The project aims to create a clear identity for Al Ain that both residents and visitors can connect with.
Plans for 2026 and Beyond
Sheikh Hazza was also briefed on proposed projects for the year 2026. These plans are fully aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The projects for 2026 will cover several areas of development, including infrastructure, public services, cultural projects, and environmental sustainability. The overall goal is to ensure comprehensive and balanced development that improves the lives of all community members and supports long-term growth in the region.
Commitment to Leadership’s Vision
During his visit, Sheikh Hazza stressed the importance of moving forward with these projects according to the established timelines. He explained that such discipline will help achieve the leadership’s vision for Al Ain.
He also highlighted that these projects form an important part of making Al Ain not just a great place to live but also a top destination for cultural experiences, tourism, and development.
According to him, the projects strike a delicate balance: on one hand, they preserve Al Ain’s deep-rooted traditions and heritage; on the other hand, they upgrade the infrastructure and facilities to meet modern needs.
Exhibition Showcasing Municipality’s History
The visit included a tour of the municipality’s exhibition. The exhibition highlighted decades of history and achievements of the Al Ain City Municipality.
It showcased the municipality’s main role in serving the community, its past initiatives, and the ways it has improved public services over the years. The exhibition also reflected how the municipality has embraced innovation to provide efficient and high-quality services to the people of Al Ain.
Redevelopment of Municipality Building
Sheikh Hazza also reviewed the partial redevelopment project of the municipality’s main building. This redevelopment aims to modernize the headquarters while keeping its functionality at the heart of public service.
During this part of the visit, Sheikh Hazza met with the employees of the municipality. He praised their dedication and encouraged them to continue their efforts in serving the public. He also motivated them to keep innovating and to contribute further to the development of Al Ain Region.
Accompanying Delegation
Sheikh Hazza was accompanied by several senior officials during the visit, including:
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan
His Excellency Rashed Musabbeh Al Manei, Director-General of Al Ain City Municipality
His Excellency Engineer Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre
A number of other senior officials from Al Ain Municipality
Their presence highlighted the importance of the projects and the teamwork needed to carry out the ambitious vision for Al Ain’s future.
The visit of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Al Ain City Municipality was more than just a review of projects. It was a strong message of commitment from the leadership to the people of Al Ain.
The projects he reviewed — from Al Rawdha Square to the Oasis Projects, from heritage neighbourhood redevelopment to the futuristic Al Ain DNA Project — all point toward a city that is preparing for the future while keeping its heart connected to its past.
Sheikh Hazza’s encouragement to employees and his insistence on sticking to the timelines for development highlight the seriousness with which the leadership approaches the growth of the region. With plans set up to 2026 and beyond, the people of Al Ain can look forward to a future of improved services, preserved heritage, and sustainable development.
