His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, met with Suren Papikyan, Armenia’s Minister of Defence, on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow, which continues at Dubai World Central until 21 November.

Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the Armenian delegation and noted the strong relationship between the two countries. He highlighted the mutual interest in expanding cooperation across defence, technology, development and future industries, adding that stability remains a key pillar for sustainable economic growth and long-term progress.

During the meeting, Minister Papikyan conveyed Armenia’s appreciation for the UAE’s support and stressed his country’s readiness to build on the growing economic, cultural and technological ties. He said the Dubai Airshow offers an ideal setting for defence leaders and aerospace specialists from around the world to exchange insights and explore new areas of cooperation.

The discussions focused on enhancing conventional and next-generation defence capabilities, adopting modern systems, and strengthening training programmes to ensure that personnel can effectively operate advanced technologies. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global developments, with an emphasis on efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE officials, including Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Major General Khalifa Rashid Al Hamli, Director of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
