As part of efforts to improve government services in Sharjah, the General Secretariat of the Sharjah Executive Council recently organized a series of brainstorming sessions. These sessions, which took place over three weeks, focused on the "Plan Approval and Building Permit" workshop. This workshop is part of a larger initiative aimed at improving key government services by making them faster, more efficient, and user-friendly. This project is guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council. His vision is to transform government services in a way that better meets the needs of the people, increases public trust, and enhances the quality of life in Sharjah.

The workshop was held at the Sharjah Municipality headquarters and focused on creating new and improved ways to handle plan approvals and building permits. Several high-ranking officials attended the session, including:

  • H.E. Engineer Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Housing Department
  • H.E. Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs
  • H.E. Engineer Hamad Jumaa Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Planning and Survey Department
  • H.E. Asma Rashid bin Taliah, Secretary-General of the Executive Council
  • Sheikh Saud Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department
  • H.E. Obaid Saeed Al Tuniji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality

In addition to these key officials, senior representatives from other government departments also participated in the workshop.

The sessions brought together managers, experts, and specialists from different government sectors, along with representatives from private engineering consultancy firms. Their shared objective was to explore new ideas and advanced technologies that could make the process of obtaining building permits smoother and more accurate. By working together, they aimed to find ways to reduce delays, cut unnecessary steps, and provide better services to the public.

The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Executive Council continues to organize similar workshops aimed at improving services across different sectors, including economic and social fields. Each workshop follows a carefully planned schedule to ensure that changes are implemented effectively and promptly. These efforts reflect a strong commitment to continuous development and innovation, ensuring that Sharjah remains a leader in providing efficient and user-friendly government services.
