Dubai recently hosted the second cycle of the CleanTech Innovators Exhibition, bringing together major companies working in clean energy. The exhibition, organized by DEWA’s Sustainability and Innovation Centre, is a key part of ‘UAE Innovates 2025’—the country’s annual innovation month.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), officially inaugurated the exhibition. He explored the latest technologies that are helping to build a sustainable future. Many leading local and international companies participated, including Huawei, Siemens Energy, Eanan Manufacturing, LONGi Solar DMCC, JinkoSolar, Trina Solar, ABB Ltd, Sungrow, GE, Canadian Solar, and Anhui Huasun Energy. The innovations on display focused on areas such as green hydrogen, artificial intelligence, solar energy, digital transformation, and energy storage—key fields in the fight against climate change.

Al Tayer also examined the winning projects from the CleanTech Hackathon, an initiative led by the Sustainability and Innovation Centre. This year, the competition attracted 160 applications from 25 nationalities and 20 universities worldwide. The winning solutions aim to improve the efficiency and affordability of clean energy, enhance the reliability of renewable power, and ensure the smooth integration of renewable energy into existing grids. Al Tayer commended the winners for their creativity and contribution to clean energy advancements.

Speaking at the event, Al Tayer highlighted that the Sustainability and Innovation Centre has grown into a global platform for cooperation in clean energy and climate action. He emphasized that it plays a crucial role in encouraging investment, knowledge-sharing, and the development of sustainable technologies to support Dubai and the UAE’s net-zero goals.

Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA stressed that the center’s various events are designed to foster innovation in renewable energy and accelerate the transition to cleaner energy sources.

As part of ‘UAE Innovates 2025’, the Sustainability and Innovation Centre also hosted more than 30 panel discussions under its CleanTech Connect programme. These sessions featured expert speakers who discussed the future of clean energy and strategies to enhance sustainability worldwide.

The exhibition and related events reaffirm Dubai’s commitment to pioneering sustainable technologies, strengthening its position as a global leader in clean energy innovation.
