Putin Signals Russian Advances in Ukraine Rejects U.S. Peace Plan

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said that U.S. proposals for peace in Ukraine could form the basis for ending the conflict. However, he warned that if Kyiv rejects the plan, Russian forces may continue their military advance.

The comments came amid growing international attention on a peace initiative proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The plan calls for Ukraine to meet several key Russian demands, including recognition of territories under Russian control, limits on NATO expansion, and other security guarantees.

Trump stated that Ukraine has until Thursday to respond to the peace proposal. He emphasized that the plan is intended to resolve the ongoing war while addressing Russia’s strategic concerns.

Putin’s remarks indicate that Russia may consider pausing further military actions if Ukraine agrees to the U.S.-backed plan. At the same time, he left open the possibility of additional advances if Kyiv refuses.
