Popular Punjabi film actress Tania is going through a very painful and difficult time. Her father, Dr. Anil Jit Singh Kamboj, was seriously injured after being shot by two men at his clinic in Moga, a district in the state of Punjab, India.
This incident happened on Friday, July 4, in the afternoon. The shooting took place at his clinic called Harbans Nursing Home, located in the town of Kot Ise Khan.
What Happened at the Clinic?
On the day of the incident, two unknown men came to Dr. Kamboj’s clinic. They came on a motorcycle and parked it outside. They pretended to be regular patients and went inside the clinic where Dr. Kamboj was seeing other patients.
According to eyewitnesses, the two men waited for a while and then, when they got a chance, they pulled out a gun and shot him at very close range. The bullets hit Dr. Kamboj, and he fell to the ground. People at the clinic rushed to help him. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Moga.
Doctors at the hospital have confirmed that he was hit by two bullets, and his condition is still very serious. He is now being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and is under close watch by medical staff.
Eyewitness Speaks Out
One person who was present at the clinic told local media that the attackers seemed calm and normal at first. “They walked in like any other patient. But then, very suddenly, they pulled out the gun and shot Dr. Kamboj. It all happened so fast,” the eyewitness said.
This has caused a lot of fear and shock among the local people. Many are wondering how such a dangerous attack could happen inside a clinic in broad daylight.
Police Launch Investigation
The Punjab Police are treating this case as a serious crime. The Superintendent of Police (SP) from Moga has shared that the attackers came with a plan and were not ordinary people. The police believe that Dr. Kamboj might have been targeted for a reason.
Sources said that Dr. Kamboj had been receiving threats from unknown people in the past. However, he never filed an official complaint. Now, the police are checking whether these threats were linked to the shooting.
The police are also considering extortion as a possible reason. Extortion means forcing someone to pay money by threatening them. It is a crime, and such cases have been reported before in Punjab.
Police Search for the Attackers
Right now, the police have sealed off the clinic area to keep it safe and clean for investigation. Forensic teams have reached the clinic to collect evidence. Forensics is the scientific method of finding out what happened at a crime scene.
The police are checking all CCTV cameras in and around the area to look for clues. They are also checking roads, toll booths, and petrol pumps for any sign of the attackers' motorcycle.
To catch the criminals quickly, police checkpoints have been set up all across Moga. Vehicles are being stopped and checked. Officers are speaking to local people and shopkeepers who might have seen something.
Tania Requests Privacy
Tania, who is a well-known face in Punjabi films, shared a message through her Instagram account. She said this is a very emotional time for her and her family. In her post, she said:
“On behalf of Tania and family, we want to share that this is an extremely critical and emotional time for her and her family. We kindly request the media to respect their privacy and give them the space they need to process this. We urge everyone to be sensitive and refrain from speculation or creating stories around the situation.”
Tania became famous for her roles in movies like Bajre Da Sitta, Sufna, Guddiyan Patole, Oye Makhna, and Rabb Da Radio 2. Fans from across Punjab and around the world are now sending her prayers and support during this tough time.
Why This Incident Is So Serious
This is not just a personal tragedy for Tania’s family. It also shows how even doctors, who work every day to help people, are not safe from violence. The shooting has created a sense of fear among other doctors and clinic owners.
People are asking how anyone can feel safe if such an incident can happen in the middle of the day at a public medical clinic. Many doctors in Punjab have spoken up and asked the government to give them better security and protection.
What Happens Next?
The main focus right now is on the health of Dr. Kamboj. Doctors are trying everything to help him recover. At the same time, the police are working hard to find and arrest the two attackers.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the shooters are still missing. The police have promised to work day and night to catch them and bring justice to the Kamboj family.
This attack has shocked the entire Punjabi film industry and the people of Punjab. It has brought attention to issues of security, law enforcement, and the need to protect people who serve society, like doctors.
We at DXB News Network send our support and best wishes to Tania, her family, and especially to Dr. Kamboj for a full and speedy recovery. We also hope that the police will soon find those responsible and make sure such crimes do not happen again.
