Islamabad: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) in Pakistan took the decision to suspend trading on Monday due to a fire that broke out within its premises. The incident prompted an official notice on the KSE 100 index's website, informing stakeholders and investors of the temporary halt in trading activities. Initially suspended, the trading halt was extended until 12:25pm local time to ensure safety and assess the situation.
The KSE assured the public that the fire was promptly brought under control by emergency response teams. Following the containment of the fire, brokerage firms' staff were allowed to re-enter the building premises to resume operations gradually. The exchange emphasized that the safety of personnel and the continuity of trading operations were paramount considerations during the incident.
