As the United States and Iran gear up for significant negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan has committed to enforcing stringent security measures. This dialogue follows a recent ceasefire aimed at ending hostilities between the two nations.

In a statement, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reassured US Ambassador Natalie Baker of the “foolproof security” protocols established for all visiting dignitaries during the talks.

These discussions are set against the backdrop of a two-week truce that temporarily halted conflicts ignited in late February. Pakistan has stepped in as a vital mediator, aiding in fostering communication and reducing tensions between the parties.

Robust security measures have been enacted throughout Islamabad, with the Red Zone undergoing sealing, major thoroughfares including Faisal Avenue facing restrictions, and VVIP protocols adopted for incoming delegations.

Traffic redirections are in effect, alongside the closure of specific access points to the capital. Law enforcement, emergency services, and medical facilities remain on high alert to swiftly address any unforeseen incidents.

A 30-member advance US delegation has already landed to assess the security arrangements, while accommodations in high-security zones are cleared for official purposes. Additionally, local holidays were designated in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to limit public activity.

These forthcoming talks are anticipated to play a pivotal role in alleviating enduring tensions, with Pakistan actively pursuing diplomatic initiatives to champion peace, stability, and dialogue within the region.
