The quake was felt across several regions, causing brief panic among residents but no immediate reports of casualties or major damage.

The earthquake occurred in one of the most seismically active areas in the world, where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. This region, including Afghanistan, northern India, and Pakistan, frequently experiences earthquakes due to the movement of these massive plates. The collision of tectonic plates makes Pakistan particularly vulnerable to strong earthquakes.
