NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani to Meet President Donald Trump

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is set to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday, November 21. This will be the first meeting between Mamdani and Trump since Mamdani’s historic victory in the New York City Mayoral election on November 4.

Mamdani, who became the first South Asian and Muslim mayor of New York City, said he plans to work with President Trump on any agenda that benefits New Yorkers, despite having many disagreements with the President. “I intend to make it clear to President Trump that I will work with him on any agenda that benefits New Yorkers. If an agenda hurts New Yorkers, I will also be the first to say so,” Mamdani told reporters.

Mamdani’s team reached out to the White House to schedule this meeting, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to address critical issues facing the city, including affordability and public safety. “We will work with anyone to make life more affordable for the more than eight and a half million people who call this city home,” he said.
